There is some confusion what the plastic tab on the back of the Minitor V is used for. This guide will show you what the purpose is. | |
There is a small plastic tab on the rear housing of the Minitor V pager as shown below. |
It's common for the tab on the back of the Minitor V to break off. We do not recommend the replacement of the housing if the tab is broken. The purpose of this tab is to assist you in holding the battery against the gold spring loaded contacts. The plastic tab does not hold the battery during use, the battery lock does this. If the tab is broken, use your thumb to hold the battery in place. Then lock the battery. The lock is what holds the battery during use. |
Once the battery is locked the plastic tab serves no purpose. The tab may look like it's holding the battery in place, but it's not. The tab on the back of the pager hooks onto the battery slot shown in the picture below. It's not strong enough to hold the battery in place during the usage of the pager. |
Once the battery is locked the plastic tab serves no purpose. The pager lock must be secure or the battery will fall out during normal usage. If you are having problems with the battery losing contact (while locked) the problem is not the plastic tab. |
