Below is a list of the Motorola Minitor 6 pager programmable options. The function switch has 8 positions (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) that can be programmed for any of the following options, depending on the pager model.

  • Selective call -- The pager is quiet until the tones are sent, then the pager alerts and turns on the audio so you can hear the transmission.
  • Monitor -- Monitors all the traffic on the channel and alerts whenever the tones are sent.
  • Priority Scan - This setting will scan two channels looking for the first active channel. If the pager locks onto the non-priority channel, it will scan back at periodic intervals (.5 sec) looking for activity on the priority channel. Should the priority channel become active, the pager will switch to the priority channel until activity ceases. With this setting you will always receive a page if it's on the priority channel.
  • Silent Scan - Scans two channels but does not open the audio unless you receive an alert. With this setting it is possible to miss an alert on either channel, so this setting should not be used if you must receive a page.
  • Probability Scan - The pager monitors activity on either frequency, with no frequency having precedence. If activity is detected on either frequency, the receiver will lock on that frequency until transmission ends. With this setting it is possible to miss the alert so this setting should not be used if you must receive a page.

Note: Each of the above options can be set to (Alert only) (Vibe only) or (Alert & Vibe)
